You can fasten it without assistance (if you have the dexterity) because the lacing is fastened at the top and bottom of the corset and tightened at the waist. The difference with my corset is the pattern is cut to fit a man's torso at the chest, waist, hip, and length. You no longer have to fit into a women's corset, unless that's your thing! The standard model is one layer of coutil, a stainless steel front closure (busk), 14 plastic "bones" per garment, and sturdy lacing. This combination of fabric, busk, and bones produces a garment that is rigid yet lightweight. (More bones, wider bones, and double layers of coutil are available for even greater structure and support). - Wear over top a chemise or undershirt for added comfort and hygiene.
- Always completely loosen the corset after wearing it.
- After wearing, mist lightly with vodka (do not wet) and hang to air out.
- Occasionally hand wash in cool water with mild soap and hang to dry.
- With proper care, your corset will last for years.
